English Afternoon Product

ENGLISH AFTERNOON

Bright and medium strength, with a delightful bouquet. Hand-picked in the Bogawantalawa Region of Sri Lanka.

THE STORY OF ENGLISH AFTERNOON

It was in the 1840s that the Duchess of Bedford, tired of her afternoon peckishness, took a pot of tea with cakes and sandwiches at 4 o’clock. She enjoyed it so much that she invited her friends to join. It wasn’t long before afternoon tea became a fixture in many a well-to-do household.

Dilmah’s English Afternoon tea is both refreshing and satisfying. It’s the perfect tea to get you through what the Duchess would have called ‘the afternoon doldrums’.

SINGLE REGION TEA

Known as the Golden Valley for the brightness of its teas, the Bogawantalawa Region is a picturesque landscape covered in green tea bushes. First planted with tea in the late 1800s, most of the region is at 1,300 metres above sea level, close to the town of Nuwara Eliya which is at the heart of Ceylon’s ‘Hill Country’. Dilmah’s English Afternoon tea is hand-picked and packed within days to ensure it reaches you fresh and brimming with flavour and natural antioxidants.
